In the 2011 Subaru Outback, the USB port is exclusively available on trims that include the navigation system, specifically the 2.5 Limited and 3.6 Limited options. If the USB port is not functioning, it is advised to inspect the fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack on the dash to the left of the steering wheel and carefully open it using a screwdriver or prybar. Inside, you will find multiple fuses. Check the diagram on the back of the panel you opened or refer to the vehicle's owner's manual to identify the appropriate fuse. Once identified, remove the fuse by pulling it out. If the thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are typically inexpensive, costing around $10.
