The Ford EcoSport typically doesn't have any unusual brake issues beyond what you might encounter with any vehicle. A common problem to watch out for is noisy brakes, often due to worn pads causing metal-on-metal contact with the calipers on the rotors. Another issue you might come across is a weak brake pedal, which could indicate a fluid leak at a line fitting or a problem with the brake booster if the pedal feels unusually heavy.

When I reverse my 2020 Ford Ecosport, I hear grinding/squealing noises from the brakes. Upon inspecting the rear brakes, I noticed that I couldn't fit my finger between the rotor and caliper on both sides of the vehicle. However, when I checked the front brakes, I was able to insert my finger between the rotor and caliper on both front rotors, which seems odd as the front brakes should wear out more if properly adjusted. I took the car back to the dealership for inspection, and they heard the noise when the vehicle first moved but then claimed the pads were wearing normally and the noise disappeared. I believe they should replace the pads and adjust the brake system before causing damage to the rotors and other components, possibly blaming me for the issue. With only 2800 miles on the car, I fear I may be charged for brake replacement when there is clearly an adjustment problem, the use of low-quality parts, or the need for brake readjustment.

If the Ford dealership is unwilling to properly address the issue, you can contact the Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau. My 2020 Ecosport has only 5900 miles on it, and the rear brakes make a loud noise when I reverse out of my garage. I purchased the car on November 28, 2020. The service representative informed me today, the second time in two weeks, that there is no issue and I would have to tolerate it. There is condensation on the rear brakes, but I questioned why the front brakes are not making the same noise. It seems he was at a loss for words. I will not accept this situation.

Since the day I purchased my 2018 ecosport with less than 10,000 miles, its brakes have been making a squealing noise. I replaced the front pads about two months ago, and it improved for a short while before getting even worse than before. The squealing happens when backing up and now even when coming to a stop while moving forward. It's really embarrassing!

I recently brought my car to the dealership because the rear brakes were making a growling noise. The dealership informed me that Ford is aware of the issue and considers it to be normal. I find this explanation puzzling. My car only has 12,500 miles on it, yet the noise is causing concern, as it startled people waiting at the bus stop today. This situation is completely unacceptable.

I purchased a 2020 EcoSport in May 2020. Shortly after driving it off the dealership, I had to replace the warped rotors. I have been in contact with the dealership for 10 months regarding this issue, but no one took me seriously until they witnessed the brakes smoking. New brake pads were installed yesterday, but the squealing noise is even worse this morning. Has anyone found a resolution to a similar problem?

I am the owner of a 2019 EcoSport experiencing the same brake issue as other owners mentioned. We shouldn't have to consider the noise normal - what steps is Ford taking to address this problem?

I've been dealing with noisy brakes ever since I got the car, but it only happens when I first start backing up. After a few minutes, the noise stops. It's more noticeable when the car hasn't been driven in a while or when it's cold outside. I've had it checked multiple times, but nothing has been found. It seems like a design flaw specific to this model, but other than that, I have no other issues. Despite this problem, I still love the car!

There have been complaints about the Ford Ecosport experiencing brake issues where the brakes produce a loud grinding noise. This could be due to friction causing the brake pads to wear out, resulting in a prevalent brake problem for this vehicle.

We purchased a brand-new 2018 Eco Sport vehicle. After reaching 18,000 miles, it began producing a terrible noise when reversing and applying the brakes. The car has been taken back to the dealership five times. During the most recent visit, they resurfaced all rotors and installed new brake pads. Despite the improvement, the noise persists when backing up and braking. Ford has been unable to resolve the issue.

here's a rephrased and polished version: I own a 2018 EcoSport and it has had a persistent backup noise ever since I purchased it. The noise is more noticeable when the car has been parked for some time or during cold weather, but it disappears as soon as I start driving. It seems like this noise may be a common issue with these cars as nothing has been detected as wrong when it was checked.

I totally understand those complaints about issues with the brakes on the EcoSport, because that's exactly the problem I'm dealing with right now.

I own a 2020 Ecosport and it seems to be experiencing rear brake pad problems, with occasional metal-on-metal noises when braking. I believe the issue might be related to the calipers not functioning properly. I've seen reports of Ford dealers replacing rear brake assemblies, but it's unclear if they are using upgraded parts or simply the same faulty ones. There are complaints of the problem recurring after a few months. I agree that the original parts may not be top-quality. I recommend investing in high-quality aftermarket brake components to potentially resolve the issues.

Today while I was driving my 2018 Ford EcoSport, I experienced a sudden loss of brakes when I attempted to stop at a stop sign. There was no warning whatsoever, just a complete failure of the brakes out of nowhere.

I did the same thing - I bought it, then a few days later had to get new brakes and rotors. That was a year ago when it had no mileage, and now I have to do it all over again! Ugh, frustrating!

I'm dealing with the same issue with my 2020 Eco Sport. I've had the car for just 4 months and driven only 1924 miles. It's disappointing that it uses low-quality parts.
