The Ford Focus doesn't experience more immobilizer issues than other vehicles, but there have been instances where the alarm system has malfunctioned. In such cases, it can prevent the engine from starting to deter theft. If your immobilizer is stuck, you may have to reset the anti-theft system using the original key. Turn the car on, wait for the antitheft light to go off, then repeat before starting the vehicle.
