The 2004 Ford F-150 generally does not experience issues with its instrument cluster, but it can still malfunction. If it stops functioning, it may be due to a faulty ground or fuse. To access the fuse box, look to the left of the steering wheel for a small seam or crack on the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you'll find several fuses. Check the back of the panel or refer to the owner's manual to identify the specific fuse needed. Remove the fuse by pulling it out – if the thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. Otherwise, if the strip is intact, simply reinsert the fuse. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, typically costing around $10.

The main plug in the upper left corner isn't securely connecting with the brake light pin. If adjusted, the brake light may stop working due to a faulty connector or solder joint at the back of the cluster. You can fix it yourself or visit a mechanic for repair.
