The 2014 Ford Expedition does not experience more transmission issues compared to other vehicles on the market. The control system and torque converter are the most frequent components that may fail. A telltale sign of control system failure is slow shifting between gears or hesitation in finding the correct gear. This indicates a potential issue with the computer that may require replacement to resolve. Another common problem is with the torque converter itself. When it malfunctions, you may notice the vehicle slipping out of gear while in motion, resulting in a loss of power.

I have a 2014 FORD Expedition XLT with 140,000 kilometers on it. It's been a total nightmare in terms of mechanical issues. First, the rocker arm in the engine broke, causing pieces to go everywhere, which ended up costing me $2500 to fix. Now, the transmission is shot, causing the car to accelerate slowly in first gear, not shift into 4th gear, and make a rattling noise from the torque converter. The Ford dealership says they need to replace a part called the Lead frame part to diagnose the transmission further, which could take up to two months and cost approximately $800 for the part and $500 for the replacement. The total cost to fix it after that remains uncertain.

I have a 2014 Expedition with 67,000 miles on it. I haven't used it to tow anything, but there's transmission fluid leaking all over the driveway and a strange smell coming from it. The transmission is slipping and jerking as well.

The main issues you might encounter with the transmission of your 2014 Ford Expedition are related to the control system, torque converter, range sensor, and fluid temperature sensor.
