The Chevrolet Equinox is equipped with Blind Spot Monitoring as a standard amenity on the Premier model. This feature is not available on the L or LS trims but can be added as an option on the LT. Blind Spot Monitoring is part of a comprehensive safety package that also includes "lane keep assist," "adaptive cruise control," "rear cross traffic alert," "forward collision alert," and "lane departure warning." This system keeps track of potential hazards and vehicles outside the driver's direct line of sight using concealed sensors placed at the rear corners of the vehicle. While driving, a yellow indicator will illuminate in the side mirror to alert the driver if an object or swiftly approaching vehicle is detected. This function can be disabled through the "vehicle personalization" menu on the Chevrolet's infotainment display.
