My sunroof/moonroof control isn't functioning properly. I suspect that water seeped in and damaged the motor. This issue is with a 2015 Lincoln MKC.

If your moonroof in the 2015 Lincoln MKC is not opening and you suspect water has entered it, the issue may be with the switch or the moonroof motor. A faulty motor could produce normal sounds that fluctuate in volume as it operates, or it may not respond at all. To diagnose the problem, test the switch to check for any movement. If there is no noise, a faulty relay could be the culprit. If you hear noise but the moonroof doesn't move, it could be due to a malfunctioning motor or damaged guides. A power moonroof on a vehicle like the Lincoln MKC should provide two key functions. Firstly, it should be able to tilt up at the back, allowing it to act as a vent while you drive without fully opening the window. Secondly, it should retract almost entirely into the roof to let in fresh air. When closed, the moonroof should allow light to enter, but not air.
