Replacing the battery in a 2016 Ford Escape is a relatively easy job. First, ensure that the car is turned off and there is no power supply. Proceed to disconnect both the positive and negative cables from the battery and the car. After loosening these connections, remove the two bolts securing the battery in place. Carefully lift the heavy battery out. Once removed, replace it with a new one and secure it with bolts. Reconnect the cables, and you should be ready to use your car again. Remember to dispose of the old battery correctly instead of discarding it casually.

I'm assuming you haven't had a chance to peek under the hood of a 2016 Escape yet, as you have to take out the air box in order to access the battery.

I'm not certain which type of Escape the people upstairs own, but in order to remove the battery without causing damage to the tray above it, you will need to first remove the windshield wipers. Then, the top cover comes off in two pieces after popping off the clips at the front of the panel and by the windshield. Once that is done, there are four bolts that require a #10 socket for removal. After removing those bolts, you can take off the bracket holding the battery and loosen the battery cables. All the fasteners I encountered were #10. Lift the front of the battery and carefully maneuver it out.

To replace the battery in the 2016 Ford Escape, start by popping the hood. Next, loosen and take off the clamps. Disconnect and tidy up the cables. Swap out the old battery for a new one, making sure to connect the cables to the right terminals. Lastly, secure the clamps back in place.

Bring it to NASA, where they can launch it into space and possibly have extraterrestrial beings work on it. Alternatively, you could buy $400 to $500 worth of tools and dismantle half of the car. Henry would be furious if he witnessed this chaotic situation.
