If you have a 2013 Ford Escape with Ford's SYNC technology, you should do a master reset if you encounter issues or are transferring ownership of your vehicle. Remember that performing a master reset will delete all saved data, so make sure you're certain about doing this before proceeding. To start, make sure your vehicle is parked and the engine is running – simply being in accessory mode won't work. Grab your phone and go to the settings menu to find and delete "SYNC" under Bluetooth. Next, on your dashboard screen, find and press the menu button, then scroll down to locate SYNC Settings. Press OK to select, then scroll down again until you find "Master Reset." Confirm your selection with OK, then confirm once more with "YES." You'll need to reconnect your phone via Bluetooth after the reset is done.
The stereo system in the Ford Escape is really terrible.
What isn't brought up is the need to initially access the Media menu and then select the Sync icon. However, this task becomes impossible if the Media menu refuses to open in the first place.
Ensure that the car is in the parked position prior to resetting the radio system. Access the bluetooth option in the settings menu on your phone, choose sync, and delete it. Navigate to advanced options on the sync screen, locate the master reset, and then confirm by pressing okay. A confirmation screen for the master reset will appear, proceed by clicking okay. Once the master reset is done, the phone will need to be synced again.
Is this effective?
