If the Dodge Ram 1500's instrument cluster is disturbed, it may show no signs of life or the gauges can drop to zero and behave erratically. After replacing a bulb in the panel, it may stop working and require replacement, which can cost around $900 at a dealership. Some Ram owners with technical skills can attempt to do the replacement themselves. Instrument failure can also be caused by issues with fuses, and for the 2017 models of the ST Quad Cab 4WD, there has been a recall on the wiring harness for the blower motor, which can impact the dash and instrument panel lights. To determine if your instrument panel needs to be replaced, press and hold the trip button while turning the key to the "on" position without starting the vehicle. Release the button and the gauges should sweep and lights should come on if everything is functioning properly.
