In 2014, there were numerous complaints from Acura MDX owners about faulty electrical components. The issues varied widely, ranging from drained batteries to dysfunctional infotainment systems due to technological glitches. The NHTSA has recorded complaints about infotainment malfunctions and faulty instrument clusters. Drivers have reported problems with the navigation system, outdated maps that cannot be updated, and non-functional voice control. These issues are possibly a result of the ECU and software not aligning with the updated systems in the vehicle.

You can enhance your navigation system by buying a 2023 navigation update on a CD. It took me nearly 12 hours spread over several days to complete the installation. The update seems to progress in increments, with each CD adding around 2 years' worth of updates. I began at navigation system version 1 and now I have upgraded to version 10. The cost for this update is $150, and I was told that this will be the final update available.
