The primary issues commonly encountered with the Nissan Rogue's electrical system stem from problems with the battery or alternator. If the alternator is malfunctioning, it won't charge the electrical system, placing the burden solely on the battery to power the vehicle. This can potentially drain the battery and lead to stalling. Other prevalent electrical issues often involve damaged fuses due to excessive power draw by electrical accessories. If an accessory pulls too much power, it can blow the fuse, often caused by various factors like a short circuit. It's advisable to inspect connections if you're experiencing frequent fuse blowouts.

My 2020 Nissan Rogue unexpectedly failed to start and displayed a message indicating it couldn't recognize my key. I brought it to a Nissan Service Center where they verified that my key fob was working fine. The car starts only when jump-started, although the battery tests indicate it's in good condition. Nevertheless, they are proceeding with replacing the battery. At times, the radio/navigation system has cut out and seemed to reset or reconnect before working properly again. I'm curious if others are encountering similar issues.

In 2021, I tried to start my Nissan Rogue SV, but it didn't work. A malfunction light appeared, followed by flashing warning lights, instructing me to place the key near the ignition button. Despite this, the car remained unresponsive. After the dealer conducted diagnostics, they identified a battery problem. This is the third Rogue this week that has had battery issues.

I'm experiencing issues with the battery in my 2021 Nissan Rogue too. It keeps running out of power on me. The dealership charges it up and assures me everything is fine, but this has happened twice already.

Nissan Rogue owners may encounter electrical problems like issues with power windows, wipers, and radio that often call for fuse, relay, battery, or alternator replacement. In more uncommon situations, the ECM might be implicated.

My 2011 Rogue was completely unresponsive yesterday, no acceleration at all. I connected my OBD2 scanner and got error codes P2100-P2101, indicating an issue with the engine control module or electronic throttle control actuator.

Hey Chris, I had a similar experience with my vehicle. The dealership initially thought it was the battery, but it turned out to be the alternator instead. I ended up replacing the battery anyway. Strangely, after fixing that issue, when I used my air conditioning, carbonated smoke started coming through the vents. It's surprising because my car is only a year old, a 2021 Nissan Rogue.

In 2020, my Nissan Rogue's electronic controls, including the heated steering wheel and sport mode, suddenly activated on their own while I was driving. Additionally, the brake assist system began flashing intermittently, and then turned off once I came to a complete stop.

Has anyone else encountered problems with the power seats in the 2019 Rogue? The electrical issues with the seats caused a short circuit that affected the entire electrical system. I replaced the seat system in December 2020, but now I am facing the same issue, with the system completely failing.

In 2018, my Rogue had some problems with the power driver seat. I had to replace the entire seat, and then two years later, the power seat issue resurfaced. While waiting for the dealer's response this time, the entire electrical system suddenly shut down, leaving the car unusable. I had to have it towed to the dealer. Now, I'm waiting to hear back from Nissan after receiving a repair estimate of $1800. Wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue.

Why does the price of the alternator for a 2020 Nissan Rogue seem so high?

  • Harry A.

Mainly, you are quick to anger.

Hey Melody, I had the same problem recently with my 2020 Nissan Rogue SV. I thought it was my key fob, but even after the dealer changed the battery, I still had issues. My car would only start with a jump, and now it won't start at all, even with a jump. I'm currently waiting for a tow to take it back to the dealer. It's frustrating - my Rogue has been well-maintained and used to be a smooth ride. Not sure what's going on with these vehicles.

In 2014, the Rogue SL experienced issues where initially there was no power, but it started after 10 minutes. Recently, when starting the car, the ignition sound was different. After backing out of the driveway and shifting into drive, the car moved forward almost as if coasting, with no acceleration, power steering, or power brakes. The temperature gauge quickly rose to near high, followed by several warning lights on the panel lighting up. The car was barely able to coast back to the driveway, after which the panel lost power. Five minutes later, the ignition button lit up some warning lights, but the car did not start.

I drive a 2023 Rogue that I purchased new last year. Tonight, I experienced a similar issue. A red battery icon appeared on the dashboard, the car wouldn't accelerate, the dashboard lights went crazy, and the engine sounded like it was overheating. I decided to turn it off. I plan to take it to the dealership tomorrow. I absolutely despise the Rogue now and deeply regret buying it.

Why isn't the tail light functioning properly?

My 2021 Nissan Rogue SL AWD only has 50,000 miles on it, and the alternator is acting up already. The dealer thought it was the battery, but it's definitely the alternator. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the part at any auto store. This experience has me rethinking buying another Nissan in the future.

Remember that the alternator might be producing sufficient voltage for the battery, yet there could still be an issue causing the battery light to come on in your dashboard.

My 2011 Nissan Rogue has a faulty low beam sensor. I am wondering if there is a recall for this particular part?

    My car requires calibration.
