While the Mazda CX5 has recently upgraded its infotainment system with a new 10.25-inch display screen featuring Mazda Connect software, earlier versions have faced infotainment concerns. These issues can range from requiring radio head unit replacements at only 50,000 miles, with owners experiencing problems such as media display not powering on or booting up, leading to an average replacement cost of $1,700. Furthermore, there have been reports of bluetooth malfunctions, digital skipping on radio channels, and clock failures. These issues tend to arise at around 7,000 miles and occur repeatedly. Beyond infotainment troubles, the CX5 has also been subject to complaints regarding lights, power windows, and brake problems. These include rattling from window assemblies, failures of Mazda's DRLs, and brakes wearing out prematurely at roughly 30,000 miles.

The infotainment system keeps shutting off and then restarting by itself, typically happening every 10 minutes. It's really annoying and upsetting.

The 2017 Mazda CX5's screen switches to different channels, adjusts tone and balance, or saves favorite settings on its own. The dealership tried rebooting the system last year, but it didn't solve the issue. It could be related to heat, given that I reside in South Florida.

In 2019, there have been issues with the Mazda CX-5 where the entire display screen goes blank or black, with only streets showing. This problem prevents making calls, listening to the radio, and using Apple Car Play. To temporarily fix the issue, the car needs to be shut down and restarted to reboot the system. Despite the dealer updating the software, the problem continues to occur intermittently. The dealer now suggests replacing the screen, but it is currently out of stock.

Yeah, we're aware of the problem. Some SD cards are defective and will have to be exchanged for new ones.

The infotainment system in my 2019 CX-5 is acting up, doing strange things on its own. Even when I try to adjust it or shield it from the heat, it still acts erratically. It's frustrating that there hasn't been a class-action lawsuit on this issue, considering that the manufacturer is aware of the problem and the repair costs are high.

The infotainment system in the 2019 Mazda CX-5 has been experiencing problems with slow responsiveness and freezing of the touch screen display.

The infotainment system in my brand-new 2021 Mazda CX-5 fails to start for the first 20 minutes of my drive, and occasionally even for the whole day. Even when it eventually turns on, the audio stays off and cannot be activated. This issue is extremely irritating, and it makes me reconsider ever buying a Mazda in the future. Potential buyers should be cautious!

I recently purchased a freshly minted 2023 CX5 turbo model with only 800 kilometers on the odometer. However, I've noticed that the screen keeps shutting down and restarting every 5 to 10 minutes. I haven't scheduled a service appointment yet, but I'm interested to see how this issue will be addressed by the dealership.

In 2019, I had a CX5 and had a terrible experience with it. The infotainment system was completely dysfunctional, and after that, I decided I would never purchase a Mazda again. It's disappointing that they claimed this issue was rare when it clearly wasn't.

My brand new 2021 CX5, which I bought just three months back, suddenly had its infotainment system completely malfunction this morning.

This situation is absolutely absurd. The device restarts every 10 minutes, rendering it practically useless. What makes it even worse is that these constant reboots are not just an annoyance, they also pose a safety risk especially at night. For example, a friend of mine experienced a navigation failure during a reboot while driving at night, causing her to get lost and having to rely on her phone to find her way home amidst the flashing reboot screen. It's frustrating. Visit this website and take part in a collective legal action. This is not a premium feature; it's a standard function that is clearly flawed. I encountered an issue with the infotainment screen where ghosting was happening. However, now that the new screen is set for installation, it is functioning as usual. I'm not sure what caused it to flicker and land on the parental lock screen or require a pin code. In the 7 years of owning my Mazda CX3, I have never experienced something like this. The problem resolved itself as I was preparing to have the LCD screen replaced.

I purchased a 2020 Mazda CX-5 a couple of years ago. Everything had been working perfectly until today. While my son was driving, he noticed the system started switching between different screens, brought up the keyboard, and began typing as if it had been hacked.

My son encountered the same issue with his 2018 CX-5. Make sure to contact Mazda's main office before proceeding with repairs. They assured us that the part will be provided at no cost, and you would only need to cover the labor fee, which is expected to be around $80. Don't allow the Mazda dealer to overcharge you $450 for the fix. The corporate headquarters confirmed that this is a recognized flaw, and the dealer should inform you of that.

The 2017 Mazda Infotainment system is haunted by ghosting issues, which is incredibly irritating as the Bluetooth connection keeps dropping every couple of minutes. Even after replacing the radio system, the same problem persists. It seems clear to me that there is an underlying wiring issue causing these problems.

I'm facing the same problems with my 2017 CX-5. The dealership had my car for a week to fix the system under my extended warranty. I also shelled out a couple of hundred bucks for a software update. It seemed fine for a while, but now the navigation is totally frozen and won't restart. Still waiting for the dealership to get back to me haha.

I'm fed up with my infotainment system constantly powering on and off. It's really frustrating. Does anyone know if there's a potential recall in the works for this issue? I've heard it's being considered.

I purchased a 2021 CX-5 a couple of weeks back, and it had fewer than 12,000 miles on it. At first, I believed I was mistakenly pressing the wrong buttons when I couldn't get into the Entertainment section on the Infotainment system. However, I later discovered that I couldn't access the channels or channel list on any source, and the Bluetooth connectivity was also not working properly. I have an appointment with the dealership, and when I scheduled it, they mentioned that it's a common issue with these vehicles.

The 2022 CX-5, today marks precisely one month since it was delivered. It has been driven a total of 489 miles so far. However, during my short road trip back, the infotainment system kept restarting every 6-7 minutes, causing a frustrating experience throughout the 3-hour journey.

I recently purchased a second-hand 2020 CX5 and am experiencing navigation problems too. On two occasions, the navigation system attempted to guide me in a nonsensical direction that would have added over 20 minutes to my journey each time. Although I could use my phone's GPS, I am unable to access Android Play because it's not working when plugged into the correct USB port (with the phone icon displayed), with the parking brake engaged, and following instructions from YouTube videos. Why hasn't there been a recall for this issue? Isn't it wrong to install malfunctioning software, which seems fraudulent?
