When the body control module (BCM) in your Ford Transit starts to fail or has failed, you may encounter various issues. Your electronic components may only work intermittently, such as the lights, radio, or gauges malfunctioning or displaying random information. The door locks and power windows may stop working temporarily and then start functioning again, possibly within the same engine cycle. Despite fully charged key fob and vehicle batteries, the anti-theft security system may continue to trigger. You might also see random check engine lights (CELs) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) that seem confusing. If your Transit doesn't start at all after checking the battery and starter, it could possibly be due to a failing or failed BCM.
If there are problems with the body control module on the Ford Transit, you may experience shaking, decreased acceleration, and engine misfires.
I lost power while driving through a sharp curve, downshifted gears, and the engine stalled. Without power steering or brakes, I was going 35 miles per hour and ended up totaling the van.
