My 2017 MDX has some rough gear changes at lower speeds, which seems to be a common issue with this model. I find it surprising that a company like Honda hasn't resolved this issue yet. According to a Honda service manager with over 15 years of experience, newer Honda vehicles from 2016 to 2020 are not as well-made as they used to be. This was brought to my attention when my 2017 Acura MDX needed a new engine. Interestingly, my 2003 Pilot, which had over 300,000 miles on it, never had any problems until someone crashed into it and totaled it. Surprisingly, the engine still appeared to be running fine!
