The 2012 Chevy Malibu has 2 ohM6-3/4" speakers and tweeters. If your speakers are not functioning, the first step is to check the fuse box. Locate the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel by looking for a small seam or crack along the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will find a series of fuses. The back of the panel will have a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not present, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Identify the faulty fuse and remove it. A functional fuse will have a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections. If this strip is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are relatively inexpensive, costing around $10 each.
