Common reasons for the clicking sound coming from beneath the dashboard of the Ford F-150 may include issues such as a loss of calibration from the heater control module, problems with the blend door stepper motor, or a faulty relay. To recalibrate the heater module, you can start by turning the ignition on, pressing the AUTO button, then turning off the ignition. Remove the HVAC fuse for at least 60 seconds. Upon restarting the ignition, the system will reset the blend door positions. It's important not to interfere during this process, which usually lasts a few minutes. Once the engine is running again, the recalibration is complete. If a stepper motor is the problem, it can be easily replaced with a repair kit that costs around $20-$30. To diagnose a bad relay, you can use an ohmmeter and replace it if necessary. The fuse boxes can be found on the right side of the passenger footwell and in the engine compartment.

My grandparents' 2014 F-150 made a ticking noise by the dashboard when we opened the door without starting the engine. A passerby advised my grandmother that all she needed was windshield wiper fluid. After adding the fluid, to our surprise, the ticking noise disappeared.

The clicking sound coming from underneath the dashboard of a Ford F-150 suggests that the plastic gear in the blend door actuator has malfunctioned. By replacing the blend door, you should be able to resolve the issue.

I had a ticking sound coming from under my dashboard. What I did was turn the key to the on position (without starting the engine) and set the AC to max, then shut off the truck completely. Next, I removed fuses 30 and 51 for a couple of minutes. After that, I put the fuses back in, turned the key back to on, and after a few minutes in that position, I started the engine again and the clicking noise was gone.

Fuse 30 doesn't have jurisdiction over that, and there is no fuse 51 in a 2014 F-150 4x4. Also, there is no automatic button present.

My Ford F-150's air conditioning won't shut off and it's making a clicking sound.

I was certain I'd have to dismantle the dashboard, take out the airbag and radio to access the blender, but you came to the rescue! Your solution was fantastic! It only took around 2 minutes! Thanks a lot!

That attempt failed. The model from 2014 does not come equipped with an automatic switch.

David Thomas, you can access the fuses under the front hood in the front fuse box. When you open it, you will see fuse number 30 and fuse number 51.
