If the instrument cluster in your Ford transit custom is not functioning, it could be due to a bad ground or fuse. To access the fuse box located underneath the car's hood, start by opening and latching the hood. Look for a black box or case along the right-hand side of the engine compartment with a visible seam running around it. Upon opening the box, you will find the fuse inside. The back of the case lid typically contains a diagram indicating which fuse serves what purpose. If not, refer to the car's owner's manual for guidance. Identify the needed fuse and carefully remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two protruding sections of the fuse is intact; a broken strip signifies a faulty fuse that needs replacement. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are generally inexpensive, costing around $10.
