What could be causing the power liftgate on my INFINITI QX60 to malfunction?

If your INFINITI QX60 power liftgate isn't working, there could be a few simple reasons for this. Firstly, check your owner's manual for the power hatch's fuse as a blown fuse might prevent the trunk or hatch from opening. Another common issue among QX60 owners is the placement of the electric liftgate switch in the cabin. The switch to deactivate the rear door's power is located under the driver's knee on the INFINITI's dashboard and may accidentally get turned off. Other possible reasons could include a low battery in your intelligent key fob, a broken door latch, or a faulty motor. If all else fails, try resetting the INFINITI's liftgate if you can still open it manually. Open the hatch using the button on your key or the switch, then pull down the liftgate manually while pressing the switch on the door. After the system beeps three times, the liftgate should be reset and functioning properly.

The reason why your INFINITI QX60 power liftgate may not be functioning could be due to a blown fuse or the Power Door On/Off switch being in the off position. This switch can be found by your knee on the driver's side seat.

I own a 2015 QX60 that we purchased used with 101,000 miles on it. We initially had no issues with the liftgate, but after just a couple of days, it stopped opening or closing electronically. We can still open it manually by turning off the power button, but the power liftgate feature is completely non-functional. Initially, it would power down partially before stopping and going back up, but now it doesn't work at all. I suspect it might be a problem with the liftgate control module or that the lift cylinders may need to be replaced. Any suggestions or advice on how to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Verify the status of the power switch located inside the glove box.

In 2019, the hinges on my QX50 tailgate were bent, a problem that the dealership had encountered multiple times. The solution involved replacing the hinges and then having the liftgate realigned at a body shop. Surprisingly, despite the frequent occurrences, Infiniti seems to have no understanding of what triggers this issue.

If you turn the key, it works, but if you try to push it by hand, it doesn't. This problem just began recently.

We recently encountered an issue with the lift gate on a QX60 hybrid where the latch was not functioning properly after we switched to a new one. In a nutshell, we removed the motor from the latch, closed it, then opened it, and finally reassembled it. After completing these steps, the latch started working normally again. Despite attempting various methods before, this was the solution that ultimately resolved the problem.

It will unlock when the car is running, but it won't if the car is turned off. I recall it used to unlock even when the car was turned off.

It began functioning once more, I appreciate your help.

Hey Jaden, did you ever find a solution to this issue? I'm facing a similar one with my 2015 QX60 that we purchased new and now has 110K miles. The liftgate stopped opening automatically, even though I can still open it manually after turning off the power button. Once opened manually, turning the power button back on results in inconsistent closing behavior - sometimes closing fully, sometimes partially, and sometimes reopening. The dealer suggested replacing the spindles (hydraulic lift arms) for $2,600, but the issue persists even after recalibration. Any advice would be helpful.

Hey Jayden, make sure to inspect the fuse #2box, it's the green combo pack labeled with triple 404040. Try unplugging it and then plugging it back in to see if it restarts. You can purchase a replacement from either Nissan or Infiniti with part number 24370-C991B.

I own a 2014 Infiniti QX60 and I'm having trouble locking my liftgate. What can I do to fix this issue?

Hey Mike, did you ever figure out what to do about your car? I have a 2015 QX60 with the same problem - the liftgate won't open automatically, but I can close it using the buttons after opening it manually.

If your liftgate suddenly stops functioning and won't open using the remote, interior button, or exterior button, try this fix: Disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery, wait 15-20 minutes, and then reconnect it. This process will reset the liftgate, allowing you to open it once more. I tried this method, and it worked for me. I hope this solution proves helpful to you as well.

The lift gate on my 2014 QX60 Infiniti opens using the button inside the car and on my key fob, but it doesn't work with the button on the lift gate itself.

I managed to fix the problem after the fuse reset shown in a different video failed to work. You should unlatch the door and use a flat head screwdriver to unlock the compartment on the trunk door manually, as demonstrated in the video. Next, manually lock it using the internal latch at the bottom of the door. Repeat the process by locking and unlocking the compartment manually. Finally, press the trunk button to reset it.

I own a 2019 QX50 and have encountered a similar issue with the lift gate randomly not working. Even after multiple visits to the dealer, they couldn't provide a definite fix. However, I discovered a solution on a forum that involves disconnecting the negative terminal of the car battery for 10-15 minutes and then reconnecting it. This reset the lift gate for me, allowing it to function properly again. I recommend giving this a try if you're facing the same problem.

In 2019, my Infiniti QX50 experienced a recurring issue where the lift gate would stop responding and just wouldn't function. I couldn't pinpoint the cause, but I stumbled upon a solution on a different online platform that did the trick for me. The fix involved disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for about 15-20 minutes before reconnecting it. After following these steps, the lift gate started working properly again. Hopefully, this solution proves helpful to others facing the same problem.

My 2019 QX60 had issues with the hatch not working properly and lacking power. After researching potential solutions such as checking the fuse and the power switch by the driver's left knee (which my car didn't have), I found that holding the switch on the open hatch for a few seconds until it beeped reactivated the hatch. This trick fixed the problem for me, so I hope it can help others too! 🌟

When I lock my car, you can still open the trunk because the liftgate doesn't lock with the rest of the car. This is the case with the QX50 Infiniti.

Both my wife's car and mine stopped working. Her car is from 2018, while mine is from 2019. It's not a fuse or switch issue, but rather a faulty sensor - and replacing it is quite costly. These cars have numerous small but costly problems and cannot be considered premium vehicles. We won't be purchasing them again.

Hey Jaden, did you ever find a solution to your issue? I'm facing a similar problem with my 2015 QX60, which I bought new and now has 110K miles. The power lift gate suddenly stopped working. I can manually open it after switching off the power button, but none of the power-operated buttons - the lift gate button, interior button near the steering wheel, or the key fob button - seem to work. After manually opening it, I can sometimes get it to close under power, but it's inconsistent. The dealer said the hydraulic lift arms need replacing at a cost of $2,600. Frustratingly, they managed to get it working briefly on the service lot, but the problem reappeared on my drive home. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Jaden, have you made any progress with the problem? I'm facing the same issue with my 2015 QX60 at 110K miles. The lift gate can be opened manually but not with the power function. It's not the on/off switch; the dealer thinks the spindles need replacing, which comes at a cost of $2500. For me, it's not worth it, so I'll stick to manually opening it. I haven't checked the fuse yet, but I'll give it a shot.
