The remote key for the Ford Transit might stop functioning due to a depleted battery. To fix this issue, remove the plastic cover of the key fob and replace the 3-volt battery with a new one of the same voltage. Another potential reason for the malfunction could be that internal wires have been dislodged or damaged. In certain cases, the remote may need to be reprogrammed, which can be done by the dealer or by following the instructions in your owner's manual. If you have one working fob, you can easily reprogram the non-working key by following the steps in your car's menu. To troubleshoot further, check the Transit's cabin fuse box for a blown plug connected to the remote module, located to the left of the steering wheel under the dash panel above the brake pedal.
