To troubleshoot non-functional steering wheel controls in a 2013 Dodge Avenger, start by checking the wires and fuse responsible for powering them. The fuse is easier to access and more likely to be the issue. You can locate the fuse box under the hood by popping the hood and securing it open. Look for a black box along the right side of the engine compartment with a visible seam around it. Inside, you'll find the fuse which is typically labeled on the back of the box or can be found in the car's owner's manual. Identify the needed fuse and remove it - look for a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections; if the strip is broken, the fuse needs replacement. A new fuse usually costs around $10, making it an affordable fix.
If the steering wheel controls on your 2013 Dodge Avenger aren't functioning, it's recommended to inspect the wiring connected to the wheel.
