If your radio in the 2013 Ford Flex isn't working, you should inspect the fuse box located near the steering wheel. To access the fuse box, look for a small seam or crack on the left side of the dash panel. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open it up. Inside, you'll find several fuses. The back of the opened panel will have a diagram showing the function of each fuse. If the diagram isn't there, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Once you identify the faulty fuse, remove it. Check if a thin metal strip connects the two raised sections of the fuse - if the metal strip is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. If the metal strip is intact, the fuse is good to be reinserted. New fuses are inexpensive, usually costing around $10.

In 2013, my Flex radio began experiencing popping noises before completely losing sound. Upon researching, I discovered that others were facing the same issue. Their temporary solution involved removing and reinserting the #9 fuse, which worked for a brief period before the problem recurred. It turns out that the Audio Control Module (ACM) is faulty and needs replacement. It would be greatly appreciated if Ford issued a recall for this part due to its high cost. Although I could install an aftermarket stereo, I prefer to maintain the original equipment. If more of us voice our concerns, Ford may consider initiating a recall.

To reset your radio, hold down the volume and seek buttons simultaneously for 30 seconds. If the radio doesn't reset, it could be due to a loose or blown fuse.

I've noticed that everyone is recommending checking the fuse box near the steering column, but my 2013 Flex doesn't have one there. I've decided that Cheryl M. has the most helpful solution for me. The next step is to locate a replacement for my Flex.

DebraB, you will need a fuse box located to the left of the steering column. It is concealed behind a panel that you need to carefully open by prying it.
