When the tie rod end of your Chevy Colorado is worn or loose, it might result in a clunking noise. This noise is a sign that the tie rods are starting to deteriorate, which can ultimately cause them to come loose and create rattling at the joints and linkages. Additionally, worn tie rod ends may lead to increased steering wheel play, resulting in less precise turning. Typically, a worn tie rod end will produce vibrations at speeds as low as 20 mph, gradually intensifying as you accelerate. Although tie rods can naturally wear out over time, a significant impact from hitting a curb or pothole can also damage them.
