If the radio display in your Ford Escape stops working due to faulty wiring or needs a factory reboot of the audio system, you can reset Ford Sync and the stereo screen by following these steps. Start by disconnecting the positive battery cable from the battery and waiting for 30 minutes. Then, reconnect the cables and start your vehicle. The audio system will be reset and the screen should start working again. Be sure to follow any on-screen prompts that may appear. If these steps don't solve the issue, you can try finding the cabin fuse box located on the left-hand side of the passenger's footwell. Look for the 20 amp radio fuse, which is number 39, and replace it. In some cases, a radio failure could be caused by a faulty FDIM (front display interface module). If you encounter more complex issues, it's recommended to seek assistance from a local dealership for a replacement.

My device suddenly stopped functioning today. To resolve the display screen issue, press and hold the power button and forward search buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds. Although uncertain of the cause, the problem occurred while my charging cable was connected as I started the car. My phone itself was not plugged into the cable.

My screen went black today. The radio is playing, but I can't do anything to adjust it except for changing the volume.

My 2021 Ford Escape touchscreen powers up and connects to my phone, but I can't adjust the sound or start the radio. The screen remains on the home display and pressing the auto function doesn't respond. Despite being able to use other features like the phone and settings, I can't hear any sound from the radio. The car dealership suggested the issue could be related to heat, but even in cooler conditions, the problem persists. I've attempted various troubleshooting steps to no avail.

If the radio display on your Ford Escape is acting up, it could be due to a blown fuse or necessitate a system reset to resolve the issue.

I realized that sometimes my car's display wouldn't turn on after starting the car. I found out that if I connect my phone to the USB before starting the car, the display wouldn't boot up even though the car would still find my phone via Bluetooth. Now I make sure to wait until the car's display has fully booted up and recognized my iPhone via Bluetooth before plugging in the phone to the USB, which only takes about 15 seconds. Following this method has solved the issue for me.

My screen and radio are completely unresponsive in my 2017 car; they just suddenly stopped working while I was driving.

The screen only activates when I switch on my headlights; apart from that, there is nothing displayed except for the radio. Occasionally, the radio turns on when I turn the ignition key a certain way, but that doesn't happen often.

Thank you, Daryl B. That worked like a charm!

We will attempt tomorrow since it is nighttime at the moment. Thanks a lot!

Press and hold the power button and the fast-forward button simultaneously for 15 seconds, and my screen immediately turned back on, as mentioned by another user.

The dealership claims they were unable to identify the issue because it wasn't apparent when I arrived.

My screen is currently displaying only the name and frequency of the radio station. This started happening just before Christmas, and I initially attributed it to the station playing holiday music instead of their usual songs. I would prefer to see the titles of the songs and the artists again. Do you have any recommendations on how I can fix this issue? Thank you in advance.

I experienced the same problem with the radio sound and screen not working. I followed the advice given here and it fixed the issue. Holding down the power button and forward button simultaneously did the trick. Thank you so much!!!

My radio and my 2017 Ford Escape are not working properly. The display shows the time and temperature, but I can't seem to turn it on. I'm not sure what's causing the issue.

Unfortunately, I've had to use the "power and forward" hold many times while driving and every time I start my 2021 Ford Escape. The screen prompts me to "turn off ignition or start car to save battery,” even though the ignition is off, and it shows the battery level decreasing. It's frustrating that this issue with the car hasn't been resolved, despite multiple trips to the dealer before the warranty expired. Now they're asking us to pay to fix it. This will be the last Ford I ever purchase. I highly recommend avoiding Ford vehicles.

Thanks, Darryl B! It worked well for me too. I tried it out before turning the key in the ignition.

I went online to research Bluetooth and syncing problems, and had to disconnect and turn off my vehicle and phone twice. This happened after attempting to reset buttons that were ineffective. Now, my screen is flickering, and I noticed that Bluetooth was back on. There could potentially be a fuse issue now. Thank you for providing the helpful advice. I also used the charging plug recently, as someone mentioned here.

    I feel the same way.
