Coolant leaks can occur in any vehicle due to the natural aging of hoses, gaskets, and seals. These leaks typically occur between the reservoir and radiator, involving cracked, damaged, or disconnected hoses. Signs of a coolant leak include the presence of antifreeze puddles underneath the vehicle, engine overheating, and a decrease in reservoir levels. In the case of the 2016 Buick Encore, leaks may come from the turbocharger, making them harder to pinpoint. Owners may notice antifreeze leaking from lines connected to and from the turbocharger, which can drip onto the catalytic converter and evaporate quickly. Identifying the source of coolant leaks while driving can be challenging because the leaks evaporate when they come into contact with hot engine parts. Conducting a dye test and pressure test can assist in locating and diagnosing the source of the leaks.

There is a leak at the rear of the engine that seems to be coming from a plastic tube-like piece. The leak continues even after the engine is turned off, but the engine temperature remains normal while driving. I was able to drive 35 miles before needing to add more water to the radiator. The leak is at the back of the engine, but there is no water mixing with the oil, which is a relief.
