What could be the reason for the lack of heat in my 2011 Chevrolet Equinox?

The 2011 Chevy Equinox can have problems with keeping the cabin warm because the blend door actuator could fail. This actuator is responsible for controlling the air flow, direction, and temperature in the HVAC system of the vehicle. When these actuators don't work properly, drivers might notice reduced airflow from the vents, lack of heat, and strange noises coming from behind the dashboard. The Equinox has three actuators, with two located under the dashboard and one under the front seat. If one of these actuators needs to be replaced, it usually costs between $106 and $120 for parts and labor. Other issues such as a faulty thermostat or coolant leaks can also cause heating problems in the cabin.

My heater isn't functioning properly, as it only blows cold air.

My heater is functional, but it only operates when the selector is set to the front window defrost position when the engine is started.

It seems like you missed what I wrote. I mentioned that the heat won't function "unless" the selector is set to the defrost position for the front windshield. I believe the issue could be a faulty actuator. Appreciate your input.

If the heating system isn't functioning properly in your 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, it could be because of a malfunctioning motor, defective thermostat, or faulty blower motor resistor.
