If the OBD port on your Ford Fusion isn't functioning, it may be due to a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel along the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you'll find a variety of fuses. Check the back of the panel for a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If this diagram is not present, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Identify the fuse you need and remove it. A functioning fuse will have a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections. If this strip is broken, the fuse is no longer good and should be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are affordable, typically costing around 10 dollars.
