If the steering wheel controls of your 2016 Chevy Trax are not functioning properly, you should replace the fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel along the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will find a variety of fuses. The back of the panel will have a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not there, you can also refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Once you identify the fuse that needs replacement, simply remove it. Check if the thin strip of metal connecting the two protruding sections of the fuse is intact – if it's broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. Otherwise, if the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, costing around $10.
You might require a mylink system update if your steering wheel controls have ceased functioning.
