If your Volvo XC60 radio isn't functioning, the likely cause is a frozen system. Initially, attempt to reboot the radio's head unit to see if it resolves the issue. If the radio remains non-operational after a restart, it may be due to a software glitch. Ensure you update the software to fix possible bugs that could be preventing it from working. Finally, inspect the wiring connections at the back of the head unit for any loose cables, as this could lead to insufficient power or poor antenna connection, resulting in the radio not working.
The radio in the 2019 Volvo XC60 might malfunction because it requires resetting or due to a blown fuse.
In 2023, my XC60 Recharge experienced a sudden loss of all audio functions like the radio, Bluetooth, and turn signals. I attempted to reset the control panel by holding down the center console button for 20-30 seconds. Initially, a message prompting the screen to be cleaned appeared, but the console eventually restarted. After the reboot, everything went back to normal.
Make sure to inspect the battery in your Xc60. If it is weak or dying, certain systems will shut off automatically, including the radio. I swapped out my old battery for a new one, and now my radio is functioning properly.
