If the heated seats in the 2017 Chevy Sonic are not functioning, there could be several explanations. The heating element may have burned out, necessitating a replacement. Alternatively, it is possible that the wires are faulty. A more common issue is that the fuse has blown, cutting off power to the seats. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will see a number of fuses. The back of the panel will have a diagram detailing the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not on the panel, you can refer to the owner's manual for the vehicle. Identify the fuse you need and remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is intact. A broken strip indicates a faulty fuse that needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, usually costing around $10.
