If the Chevrolet RPM gauge, also known as the tachometer, is not showing engine revolutions per minute, it may be due to faulty wiring beneath the gauge or instrument panel. To resolve this issue, check for grounding problems and fix them if necessary. Another possible reason for the problem could be a need to reset the clutch switch position. In the case of a manual Aveo where the instrument panel has been tampered with for repair or to change a bulb, the switch will require a reset. The tachometer is also powered by a fuse that might need to be replaced. If the fuse is operational, the tachometer might not be getting signals from the crank sensor or ignition module due to a connection problem. Broken or shorted wires, as well as corroded connectors between these components, could also cause the tachometer to malfunction.

The primary reason why the RPM gauge stops working in a Chevrolet Aveo is often a blown fuse associated with the tachometer. It's advisable to check and ensure that the fuses are functional. Additionally, a faulty tachometer or a malfunctioning tachometer relay switch could also be a result of improper wiring.
