In your car, there is an off button for the auto idle stop feature located on the dashboard. If you press this button, the system will be turned off. If the feature is still not working despite being turned on, there could be several other potential issues to consider. A common one is if your seat belt is not fastened. Another possibility is that your engine coolant may not be at the correct temperature – if it is either too high or too low, the system will not function. Additionally, if the transmission fluid temperature is not within the right range, it could also impact the operation of this feature.

I've purchased three Honda Pilots. The 2019 model comes with this annoying idle stop feature that has cut off while driving on I-5 during rush hour. I will never purchase another Honda and am considering selling this one soon. This feature has caused the car to turn off on me seven times already. The person responsible for creating this feature and affecting Honda's reputation should be let go!

I'm still not convinced by any of these explanations. I never turn it off and I always wear my seat belt. Sometimes even when the air conditioning and heater are turned off, the engine idle doesn't consistently shut off. However, on the few times it does work, I've never encountered any problems restarting my car.

My car stalled on a crowded street and the police had to block it to keep me safe from getting hit. It's been acting up lately, turning off on me, but I could always restart it before. This time, I had to get it towed. Feeling frustrated with my Honda.
