If the display on your car's vehicle information system isn't functioning properly, the issue is likely a faulty wire leading to the radio, but it's more probable that it's a blown fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you'll find several fuses. The back panel of the opened section will have a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram isn't present, you can also consult the vehicle's owner's manual. Identify the fuse you need and remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is intact - if broken, the fuse needs to be replaced; if not, it's still good to be reinserted. Replacement fuses are usually around $10 each, making them quite affordable.

If the vehicle information display is not working on a 2012 Nissan Altima, make sure to inspect if fuse number 19 has blown.

The radio is still functioning and it operates on the same fuse.

I just got a 2012 Altima today, and the radio works fine, but the display only shows odd dots. However, the back light still works. I discovered that pressing the screen in different spots makes some of the missing dots show up temporarily. I think there might be a bad connection inside the radio to the display board, which I could fix with a soldering iron after figuring out how to remove the radio from the dash and open it up. I saw a YouTube video where a bad ground connection was the issue with a completely dead display. The YouTuber cleaned the ground connection and everything worked fine afterward. So, there might be hope for me - and you - if we can pull out the radio and do some minor repairs/soldering. Good luck to anyone attempting this! I'll share an update after inspecting my radio.
