On BMW cars, if you see fault code CC-ID 29, it means there's an issue with the engine, resulting in reduced engine power. This code is different from those you would get from an OBD-II scan tool, acting more like a detailed "check engine light". You'll still need a complete scan to fully understand the problem. In addition to CC-ID 29, you will also receive other diagnostic trouble codes, so be sure to check those as well. The BMW code simply alerts you to a problem without specifying the exact issue, so a comprehensive scan is still necessary for a clearer diagnosis.

Hey everyone, can someone tell me what the code "CC-ID 29" means? Yesterday evening, I ran out of gas just 20 minutes after refueling, and then this code showed up on my dashboard. Today, it appeared again shortly after refilling my tank once more. I'm kind of worried this could be a major issue, especially since I recently had it serviced. Any help would be appreciated, it's a 2007 335i.

Make sure to always swap out old parts for new ones when you encounter a situation where your car cranks but doesn't start. This will not only save you time but also prevent any unnecessary frustration. I learned this important lesson with my first BMW.

I checked for errors and codes using the Foxwell NT650 Elite and Angel BM700, but they didn't detect any issues even though the yellow engine light was on, showing Mini Cooper's own code as CC-ID 029. After cleaning the injectors and replacing all the washers and seals, including the copper injector washers, the engine cranks but doesn't start due to lack of diesel reaching the injectors. I also swapped out the EGR valve because one of the resistors in the electric connector was burnt. Despite calling a mechanic who couldn't find any codes after spending two hours, the issue persists with the 2008 Mini Cooper 1.6 Diesel engine, which lacks a fuel pump in the tank and only has HPFP. Furthermore, the magnetic fuel valve was confirmed to be functioning properly.
