The P1C54 error code in a Dodge Ram is related to issues with the diesel exhaust fluid and NOx sensors. This problem can arise from poor quality or diluted fluid, leaks, or malfunctions in the dosing system or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). The SCR, which is part of the emissions control system for diesel vehicles, relies on two NOx sensors working with H2 modules to monitor the truck's exhaust. One sensor is situated on the turbocharger's downpipe while the other is located at the SCR Catalyst outlet. When the NOx modules detect problems, they will notify the engine's PCM, triggering the appearance of the P1C54 error code.
