In a VW Golf, if you encounter the 01314 fault code, it signals that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has recorded a code that affects the functioning of other control modules. To resolve this issue, you must first fix the problem within the ECM. Typically, this code indicates a problematic ECM, which is essentially the brain of the engine management system and oversees various functions like fuel mixture, ignition timing, cam timing, and emissions control. While the ECM power relay is designed to last the entire lifespan of your vehicle, it may still fail due to factors like moisture or power distribution problems.

Hey everyone, I own a 2004 Volkswagen Touran FSI 2.0 that's been experiencing a recurring issue. The car won't start unless I disconnect the battery terminal for a minute and then reconnect it. If I switch off the ignition and turn it back on, there is no engine light until I disconnect the battery terminal once more. When I check the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), it shows code 01314 for Engine Control Module (ECM) Mount 1. I'd appreciate any help with resolving this problem.

Good evening, I also have a Volkswagen Golf 5 with a 2.0 TDI engine (BKD). It has a very pronounced shaking at idle and no one can figure it out. There are no error codes showing up on the VCDS test. The only error I have on another tester is the code 01314 for Engine Control Module (ECM) communication failure. Can anyone help me with this problem? Please contact me at 0767445827.

There could be a problem with relay 420 or the wiring connected to the relay may be experiencing a faulty connection.

My Volkswagen Polo has these codes: 01315, 00283, 00285, 01314. For a while, the ABS and Traction warning lights were on the dashboard. Then, one day while driving, the ABS light turned off, but the Traction light remained and the gear indicator disappeared from the dash. The gear lever started flashing, and I couldn't shift gears anymore after moving from Drive to Park. I had to turn off the car. The next morning, the car started fine, and the gears were shifting correctly. After some driving, the ABS light turned off again, the gear indicator disappeared, and it wouldn't start without the gear showing on the dash. If the car starts in the morning, it means the Traction light is not on, or it is on together with the ABS light. In summary, when the ABS light goes off, the gear indicator disappears. This issue started after changing the front brake pads. What could be causing this problem?
