The error code tbc on the Ford F-250 refers to an issue with the trailer brake controller, often caused by a faulty connection due to a blown fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dashboard. Using a screwdriver or prybar, gently open this panel to reveal the fuses inside. Refer to the diagram on the back of the panel or consult the vehicle's owner's manual to identify the specific fuse for the trailer brake controller. Once you locate the correct fuse, carefully remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two sections of the fuse is intact; if broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. Otherwise, simply reinsert the fuse. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, typically costing around $10.
