A common issue that can lead to brake system error messages in the Honda CR-V is a dead or weak battery. Low voltage can cause malfunctions in the brakes, resulting in the brake pedal kicking back during an electric brake reset. The CR-V is equipped with an electric parking brake that includes an automatic brake hold feature. Rather than using a traditional hand lever or foot pedal, CR-V owners can easily engage the parking brake by lifting the electric switch and release it by pushing it down. The automatic brake hold function maintains braking pressure when the driver uses the brakes, such as in heavy traffic, and releases the brakes when the driver accelerates.
The issue with the electric brakes on a Honda CR-V typically involves difficulty in releasing the parking brake once the vehicle has been parked.
