If your Honda Accord fails to start even after changing the battery, there are a few common causes to consider. Start by checking the battery cables to ensure they are securely connected and in the correct orientation. If the cables are fine, the issue may lie with the starter motor, which can be indicated by clicking or grinding sounds when trying to start the vehicle. Another potential issue could be a lack of fuel pressure reaching the engine, which can be detected by listening for the fuel pump priming when turning on the car. If you do not hear the pump, it may need to be inspected.

It's probable that the reason the Honda Accord won't start after replacing the battery is due to a loose connection with the terminal on the battery.

When I replaced the battery in my 2018 Honda Accord, it wouldn't start, only cranking without starting. There was a blinking red light near the speedometer. Despite checking the fuses, which were fine, I had to call the dealership for help, and they advised me to have it towed to them. By chance, I engaged the parking brake, which caused the red light to stop flashing. This simple action allowed the car to start again, saving me some money in the process. 😊

I had the same make and year of car facing the exact issue. After spending a few hours troubleshooting and trying various solutions I found online, I thought I might need to tow my car to the Honda dealership. As a last attempt, I adjusted the parking brake, but that didn't work until I also shifted the gear from Park to Neutral and then back to Park. Finally, the car started. I noticed two things: the car rolled back slightly after resetting the gear to Park, and the brake pedal pressure decreased, allowing for more movement in the pedal compared to previous attempts. I'm not certain what ultimately fixed the problem, but it shouldn't be so challenging just to replace a simple battery. Best of luck.

I've noticed that my car is exhibiting the same behavior as Marc's after I replaced the battery with a DieHard 730 platinum. The car is running smoothly at the moment, but there's a possibility that it won't last for long. The car is parked on a slight incline, and I'm unable to shift to neutral or make any changes because the override hidden in the compartment doesn't seem to work. I'll keep attempting to resolve the issue, as I prefer not to take it to the dealer. It's frustrating that Honda designed the car in a way that makes it so complicated for owners. Earlier today, I could still move the car, but the old battery was struggling to hold a charge. I thought that replacing the battery would solve the problem.

Thanks a lot Marc, the parking brake you fixed is now working perfectly for me!
