The main reason why the airbag light in a Ford Ranger may be on is likely due to a previous deployment of the airbag. If this is not the case, or if you have not disconnected the battery, it is advisable to bring the vehicle to a dealership for a thorough check to rule out any other airbag-related issues. The light could also be triggered by seat belt problems, which should also be examined by the dealership. For resetting the airbag light in a Ford Escape, follow these steps: Insert the key into the ignition and switch it to the "on" position. Watch for the light to stay lit for seven seconds before turning off. Once it turns off, switch off the ignition and wait for three seconds before repeating the process 1-2 times. After completing this, start the engine, and the SRS light should no longer be illuminated.

If the airbag light on your Ford Ranger remains illuminated, it indicates a potential issue with the seat belts or could be a sign that the vehicle has been in a collision, requiring the airbag to be reset.
