Squeaky sounds in the Ford Escape might be due to issues with the suspension or brakes. They could also result from low power steering lubricant levels in models with a non-electric hydraulic pump. Grinding or squealing noises may be noticed if the brake pads are worn out and metal parts start rubbing together. A broken CV joint or rod bearings could also be the source of the noise. Over time, ball joints and bushings may wear down - the rubber bushings can crack and joints without enough lubrication will break down too. Lastly, check the drive belts for any looseness or alignment issues. Loose belts could lead to squeaking and creaking noises, especially when turning the vehicle.
