When the Ford Transit doesn't respond to the gas pedal being pressed, the problem is likely a faulty throttle body or throttle position sensor. The sensor is located on the right side of the engine, under the air filter housing. Possible causes of throttle body failure include the buildup of debris, carbon, and dirt that restrict air flow, known as coking. You can try cleaning the throttle body and sensor with degreaser to fix the issue, but if they are defective, they may need to be replaced.
