Most people agree that the largest tire size you can safely put on a 2016 Jeep Cherokee is 245/70R17. Any larger tire could scrape against the front spring perch if you don't have a lift kit installed. Walmart typically stocks 245/70R17 tires, such as the Fortune FSR305s, for about $84 each. Walmart charges $12 per tire for mounting at the time of my response. If you're thinking about getting bigger rims, you could go with a P225/55R18 or P225/60R18, but keep in mind that the ratio will be lower.
The largest tire size that fits the 2016 Jeep Cherokee is the p225/60r18.
