There have been five different generations of Hyundai Sonatas, so you'll need to provide more specific information about the year and model if you want to know the top speed. Typically, these cars can reach speeds of around 130 miles per hour. However, the 2020 model could potentially reach 145 mph if it doesn't have a speed limiter. Comparing the 2020 version to the 2018 2.0T Limited, the former is slower in the 0 to 60 acceleration time, taking 8.2 seconds compared to the latter's 7.1 seconds. For most drivers, that difference might not be significant, and completing a quarter mile in 16.2 seconds at 87.8 mph is usually fast enough. If you're interested in an entertaining story, look up Lawrence Pargo from Scottsdale, AZ, who was caught on camera pushing a 2006 Sonata to a remarkable 147 mph. This incident is quite amusing as some Hyundai technicians had doubted that the car could even reach such high speeds, but Mr. Pargo's court record proves otherwise!

I was hitting 4500 rpm at around 130mph and the acceleration was still strong, with 2000 more rpm to go before hitting its peak horsepower at 6000rpm. I believe that reaching speeds over 150mph from 130mph would only take a few seconds and a little more rpms, maybe 1500. However, I'm not daring enough to try it myself. Going over 130mph gave me all the information I needed. If, by some crazy chance, I ever lose all sense and disregard for the law and safety of others and myself, I'll give it a shot and let you all know how it went at 150+mph. In the meantime, check out some illegal street racing videos on YouTube showcasing the full potential of the Sonata. The Sonata lives up to its name, delivering harmony in both sound and performance, with the ability to compete with cars twice as loud, like Mustangs. Gotta love the Sonata's spirit, haha!

Driving a late 2000s Corolla S at high speeds through New Mexico, once we hit around 126 mph, the Corolla couldn't keep up. The 2006 Sonata V6 3.3L managed to reach a little over 135 mph, putting the pursuing Corolla S far behind in my rearview mirror. However, whenever I slowed down to around 110 mph, the Corolla quickly caught up alongside me. I would then accelerate, leaving the Corolla far behind again, repeating this cycle multiple times during a 20-minute drive until we both agreed it was time to stop for gas.

I drive a 2016 Sonata, and the fastest I've gone in it was 134 mph, surpassing my previous speed of 131 mph.

I was driving a Sonata three years ago, and it was capable of reaching a speed of 135 mph. However, I had an issue where the windshield wiper blades would frequently come off while in the parked position.
