The 2005 Ford Mustang with the 4.0L V6 engine requires 5 quarts of synthetic oil for an oil change. To begin the oil change, ensure that the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to allow the oil to cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug under the engine compartment. Place a bucket underneath the plug and remove it to let the oil drain into the pan. Allow the oil to drain completely, which may take around an hour. Once it has finished dripping, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel, making sure not to overfill. It's better to have a little less than to overfill, as excess oil can cause leaks and burn off. After filling the oil pan to the correct level, close the port, clean any spilled oil, and you're done.
