The 2005 Toyota Corolla requires 4.6 quarts of engine oil. It is advised to get an oil change for the Corolla every 5000 miles or every 6 months. Make sure to use Toyota Genuine or a similar quality engine oil with a viscosity grade of SAE 5W-30 that is API grade SL Energyˆ’Conserving or ILSAC multigrade. You can also opt for SAE 10W-30, but switch back to SAE 5W-30 at the next oil change. Look out for the "MAINT REQD" light on the dashboard, which will turn on when it's time for an oil change, usually around 4500 miles since the last one. Initially, it will flash and then stay on continuously once you surpass 5000 miles.
