The 2008 Toyota Avalon 3.5L V6 requires 6.4 US quarts of 5W-30 fully synthetic motor oil for an oil change. Before starting the process, ensure that the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid the hot oil causing burns. Locate the oil pan and drain plug underneath the engine compartment. Place a bucket under the plug, remove it, and allow the oil to drain completely, which might take about an hour. Once it has stopped dripping, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel until it reaches the full mark, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and excess oil burn-off. After filling, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
