The Dodge Nitro offered a choice between two engine sizes. The base model came with a 3.7L V6 engine, while an optional upgrade was the more powerful 4.0L V6. The standard engine requires 5 US quarts of 5W-20 oil, including the filter. On the other hand, the enhanced 4.0L engine needs 5.7 US quarts of 10W-30 oil, including the filter. Both engines must use synthetic oil and require an oil change every 7,500 miles. Luckily, these vehicles feature an oil life indicator to let you know when it's time for a change.
