The 2014 Ford Focus comes equipped with a dual clutch transmission, a high-tech system that uses two clutches to switch gears in your car. This innovative technology provides several benefits, such as quicker gear changes leading to improved fuel efficiency. However, there have been issues with the dual clutches in Focus models produced from 2012 to 2016, resulting in a class-action lawsuit. The automatic transmission can experience rough shifting and frequent repairs. Ford has agreed to a settlement offering $30 million in reimbursement after spending $47 million on buy backs. If you own a 2014 Focus, you may be eligible for coverage in this legal case. Replacing the transmission could cost more than $4,000 out of pocket.

Quoted $2,377.14. I'm wondering, since it's a 2014 model and the 7-year warranty has expired, will they still provide coverage under the lawsuit? Has anyone here had it covered or repaired through legal action?

I was quoted a rough estimate of $3,000 to install new clutches for both of my 2012 Focus's. I've only owned this car since mid-2019, so unfortunately, I'm not covered by the extended warranty or eligible for any reimbursement, which is frustrating.

The repair work took two full days.

I purchased my 2014 vehicle five months ago. I am now facing the need to replace the dual clutch. One mechanic refused to work on it, while another tried to persuade me to sell the car, warning that even if fixed, the issue would likely resurface. I was advised to get rid of it altogether.

I brought my car to Sons Ford in Auburn, Alabama, which is a Ford company, and they informed me that even though the car is under warranty, they are requesting $3,500 to repair the dual clutch. They mentioned that they had previously worked on my car when their name was different, and they had also fixed the transmission, but apparently the clutch repair is not covered by the warranty. My car has a mileage of 144,000 miles, and it is currently sitting in their facility because they won't let me pay the $3,500.

If you own a Dodge Charger and need to check the transmission fluid, simply access the designated knob labeled for dealership use only by using pliers. Purchase a long transmission dipstick to independently inspect the fluid level in your car. Make sure to find the correct fluid type and have a funnel on hand for refilling if necessary.

I purchased a Ford Focus in 2014, which was a 2013 certified pre-owned vehicle with a 125,000-mile warranty, better than the new 2014 model that only had a 12,000-mile warranty. During the test drive, I noticed some vibration when I accelerated, but the salesperson assured me it was normal for this car. They mentioned owning a Focus themselves and experiencing the same thing. However, just two weeks after buying the car, the transmission failed. I returned it to the dealer, and after a diagnostic check, the mechanic discovered it was part of a recall. Although it underwent five rebuilds due to the recall issue, the car has now surpassed 125,000 miles and is no longer covered. I'm facing transmission issues again – what a dilemma!
