In the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, there have been reports of transmission issues, particularly involving a lack of reverse or forward gears. Many drivers, past and present, have experienced this problem, often due to a malfunctioning transmission control module and more specifically, a faulty transmission shift solenoid within that module. General Motors acknowledged this issue by issuing a technical service bulletin (TSB) in 2016, labeled as TSB 16-NA-092. Unfortunately, if your 2011 model is no longer under warranty, the necessary transmission module replacement can be quite costly. The part itself is priced around $375 to $450, with total expenses including labor at an auto repair shop amounting to $525 to $625.
